Aaron Turpen Rips Cash for Clunkers Bill

Aaron Turpen on his blog entitled Aaron’s EnvironMental Corner, commented today on the Cash for Clunkers Bill.  Aaron is a freelance writer living in Wyoming and often writes about environmental issues.  Aaron’s recent blog post questions the “green” aspects of the proposed legislation.

Regarding the rules for cars that qualify, Turpen writes “Here’s the problem with that: my Toyota pickup was rated to get 18mpg when new (city). If I turn it in for a Ford Diesel F150, which the EPA rates at 22mpg, I qualify for $3,500. Except my Toyota damn sure puts out less emissions than that diesel.”

Aaron’s commentary on the bill and similar programs in the UK and Germany reflect the sentiments of many Americans.  We will be compiled a list of consumers blog posts and articles to include on this website.
