Chevy Malibu Hybrid

elvis 1

The greatly expected Chevy Malibu Hybrid made its first appearance in 2008 using GM’s “mild hybrid system” which uses a belt-alternator starter to support the gas engine.

The hybrid Malibu uses a 36-volt electric motor/generator joined with a 164-hp 2.4L Ecotec VVT four-cylinder engine and a four-speed transmission to provide flawless operation to drivers. Fuel consumption is condensed by using complicated controls and software to stop and start the engine in heavy traffic and to recharge the battery by regenerative braking.

The nickel-metal hydride battery is covered by an eight year, 100,000 mile warranty. Standard safety features include front, side-impact, and side curtain airbags, stability control, and traction control.

The Chevy Malibu Hybrid features a hybrid drivetrain, an EPA rating of 24-mpg city and 32-mpg highway, and is a carryover for 2010.

Interior Design and Special Featureschevy 2

The Chevy Malibu achieves great advantage points concerning the interior. The dual-cowl dash design is surely noticeable, while consumers have a pair of classy two-tone color schemes to choose from: gray/lighter gray and brown/tan. On the whole the Malibu is a vast improvement over past Chevy models.

Firmly accommodating front seats make for comfortable 500-mile days behind the wheel, and the controls for the audio and climate control systems are simple to use. With its long wheelbase, the Malibu offers liberal amounts of legroom for rear passengers. Unlike other hybrid sedans, the Malibu’s trunk is not compromised by large battery packs, and it holds a maximum of 15.1 cubic feet of luggage.
